As a music student born and raised in Newport Beach, California, Sara Barkouras is always looking for opportunities to develop her technical skills and collaborate with creative professionals. Known for her dulcet, sweet sound, the light lyric soprano currently studies at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts to obtain a Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance with a minor in Arts Management. She has always had a passion for the arts, taking ballet classes as a young girl and becoming involved in theatre. With a background in musical theatre, she chose to join her school choir at the age of 12, reviving Horace Ensign Intermediate School's a capella chorus, the Twelve Tones. She then studied at the Classical Voice Conservatory of the Orange County School of the Arts where she graduated in 2021 with valedictorian status. Now pursuing a career is opera and musical theatre, she is prepared and excited for what the future holds. As a young singer, she has spread her talents by joining the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy with the Oregon Bach Festival, as well as touring to Eastern Europe with her ensemble. She has performed in the chorus ofThe Fairy Queen by Henry Purcell, Aladdin, and Wicked, and has played the role of Cosette in a staged theatre scenes production. Furthermore, she chose to explore the business side of the arts sector and worked as a Volunteer Services Intern at the Pacific Symphony. Now eighteen years of age, she plans to pursue a career in vocal performance and arts management.
